Adelaide Oval

Home of the Adelaide Crows, Port Adelaide Power, SA Redbacks/Scorpions, and Adelaide Strikers.

How to get there: North bank of river Torrens, between Montefiore Rd and King William Street. Walkable from Adelaide CBD and Adelaide train station.

 

Glenelg Beach

Sandy beach with a picturesque jetty and foreshore.

How to get there: A direct tram line takes you from Adelaide CBD direct to Glenelg beach. Taxi/Rideshare services will get you to Glenelg within 20-30 minutes from most of Adelaide.

 

Adelaide Hills

Scenic walks, wineries, country bakeries, all within 30 minutes of Adelaide CBD.

How to get there: Most accessible with a car by driving up the South-Eastern freeway and following the brown tourist signs to points of interest. There are also buses from the CBD to Hahndorf which is a small German-style town with a rich history, German pubs and bakeries.

 

Belair National Park

Native Australian bushland with stunning views across Adelaide. Great for Koala, Kangaroo, Lizard and Echidna spotting.

How to get there: Jump on the Belair train line from the CBD and follow it all the way to Belair. You’ll get some great views on the train on the way up, and the station is right next to the walking trails. An ideal opportunity to see some South Australian bushland without needing to drive!

 

Victor Harbor and Middleton

Coastal town south of Adelaide. Home to a horse-drawn tram, a wild penguin colony, and whale watching. Middleton and Goolwa beaches are excellent for surfers of all levels, with board and wetsuit hire available.

How to get there: Roughly a 1.5 hour drive from Adelaide CBD, follow the Southern expressway and then keep following signs for Victor Harbor.
